I love nothing more than a good pamper evening. A pamper evening for me is where I spend that little extra on my skincare routine.
The first thing I start with is cleansing. The tools of choice depend on whether or not I have worn makeup or not. On a makeup free day my hands and a gentle cleanser like the Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser. On a day where I have worn makeup I enlist the help of my facial brush and some great cleansing wipes. At the moment I am loving the B. Pure Sensitive Micellar Cleansing Wipes.
Sometimes to really open up my pores I steam my face over a bowl of hot water and add slices of lemon and a few drops of tea tree oil.
Once my face is clean I then pop on a mask. One that I have been gravitating to a lot is the body shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Mask. I love to apply my masks with the Body Shop facial mask brush. It makes me feel bad and boujee (cue music) – it’s the little things I guess. This mask is often touted as a dupe for the glam glow mask of which I have used none so I cant verify those claims. However I reach for this mask when I want the benefits of a clay mask to draw out the gunk from my pores, but also with the addition of a good old manual scrub for my face. I pop this on for anytime between ten minutes and half an hour. Then give my face a good scrub.
After the face mask my skin usually feels super soft, and super clean. I then use a toner on a cotton pad. Currently I tend to reach for the Clean and Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion for sensitive skin . I have decanted this into a smaller spray bottle for travel purposes and also because I’m just fancy like that. Next up I reach for a serum, like the Simply Pure Hydrating serum from Superdrug this sits somewhere between a liquid and a gel. It absorbs really nicely on the skin and can be used daytime or evening.
Finally the piece de resistance before I plump down in front of Netflix or catch up on my Youtube subscriptions is a face oil. I love the Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Oil.
