So guys did I tell you about the time I went in for a skin consultation and ended up leaving with a colonic. No? Ok here goes.
Sooo I’ve always wanted to have a colonic but the notion of having something shoved up the nether regions did not sit (for lack of a better word) well with me. I went in to see Charlotte about having some treatments for my acne scarring and actually left having a colonic.
I was taken through some forms and asked to highlight anything that could potentially be harmful in terms of me having my colonic that day. I passed the questions on the forms with flying colours. I was then met by Michelle who would be carrying out my treatment.
I was offered some lemon water to sip, and then taken into the room where I would be receiving my treatment. I was asked to remove clothing and underwear on the bottom half and given a gown to wear as well as a towel to cover everything up.
Under Michelle’s instructions the tube used to perform the procedure was placed in the bum. It felt a little strange upon initial insertion and I questioned myself for two minutes as to what exactly I am doing having a colonic on a whim. However after that I got used to it and could barely feel a thing.
During the process water is pushed up into the body, this gives you the sensation of wanting to go to the loo. was advised by Michelle to let go and not hold anything in. I did not look at what left the tube, I believe this was the better decision lol. When the treatment time is up you will feel the urge to use the loo. Once the treatment was finished Michelle advised on things that I could improve on diet wise and suggested to take some probiotics for at least a week after the treatment because both good and bad bacterias would have been removed during the process.
Overall I was really impressed with my first treatment and the overall care shown from the team at EF medispa in St. John’s Wood. I would highly recommend having a colonic and will be having a this a few more times before giving my final thoughts on the benefits of having this done regularly.
Let me know your thoughts and experiences with colonics and other ways to detox the body.
